 Lucas Granholm

Hello!

Thank you for showing interest in my work! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, I grew up attending a large variety of artistic performances. Later I attended the University of Minnesota Morris obtaining my Bachelors degree in Theatre Arts, and subsequently obtaining my Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre Design and Technology, Lighting Design Emphasis, from the University of South Dakota. You name it, I have done lights for it, from a large scale musical to a small intimate wedding reception. Because of this I believe I have a strong eye for lighting in any type of performance.

Currently, I am an Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts at the University of Minnesota Morris. This appointment allows me to serve as design faculty in both a 350 seat Proscenium Theatre as well as a small, intimate Black Box Theatre. Prior to my time teaching, I have worked as a freelance lighting designer and master electrician across the country.

At the off chances that you will find me NOT at the top of a ladder focusing a light or behind a lighting console, you will likely find me enjoying the outdoors, playing banjo, or exploring a local thrift store.
