Silent Laughter follows Billy, a Keaton style character that is trying to get the girl. Encapsulting the vestiges of a silent film, Billy travels to Europe to fight in the great war, gets his love interest stollen by a villain, and is constantly running from the police. The lighting design used color corrective gels almost exclusively to create a dull/cold lighting quality to help support the black and white look of the production.
